Energy Services Acquisition Program (ESAP) “Cliff Climb”

The Cliff Plant, an industrial plant located along the base of Parliament Hill and just west of the Supreme Court of Canada, is being redesigned to create an architectural landmark in the core of the nation’s capital. A stairway and elevator called the “Cliff Climb” provides public access from the upper Parliamentary/Judiciary precincts to the lower Ottawa River Pathway. This element includes three projecting theatre boxes intended to provide framed views towards the Ottawa River. The Connection Engineering team at REX provided engineering calculations and shop drawing review for structural steel shear, bracing, and moment connections on the Cliff Climb.
