Los Angeles, CA MEP Engineering
Candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree. Candidate shall have proficiency in Microsoft Office Productivity Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), knowledge and experience with EnergyPro, California Title 24, related energy programs and have a strong understanding of building codes and standards. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of California is preferred, and the ability to obtain registration in other states is a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, strong organizational and decision-making skills are required. Ability to work on multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment is key. Participation in internal office collaboration and the external professional community is encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Create building system concepts, and participate in early project charettes to identify opportunities and challenges with entire design team.
- – Perform mechanical design responsibilities on multiple projects, including establishing design criteria and standards, conducting code research, conducting product and equipment research, and preparing calculations, reports, and project drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with client, architect, other disciplines, and contractor to provide appropriate, cost-effective, and coordinated solutions.
- Work to establish and build relationship with team members, both internal and external.
- Perform construction administration services, including RFI’s and submittals, and site visits as required.
- Opportunities to become involved in internal office and external business development efforts.
- Participates in business development efforts.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in the design of mechanical equipment and HVAC systems. Mixed-use and high-rise design experience a plus.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
- AutoCAD and Revit design experience.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and other discipline documents.
- Ability to field survey mechanical systems a plus.
- P.E. license in Mechanical Engineering in California a plus.
- LEED accreditation a plus.
- Active in professional organizations a plus.
