Structural Engineering
Candidate will work with the engineering team to develop estimates for our connection engineering projects, which consists of reviewing structural steel drawings to determine the effort level required from our engineers to complete the design/calculations required, and then develop the corresponding proposals. Our projects consist of buildings, stairs, railings, platforms, and other miscellaneous metal packages.
Candidate will also work with our Vice President of Business Development to assist in client communication efforts and sales. Candidate must be able to work independently, and will be given responsibility to manage client accounts, as well as pursue new work. Candidate may also assist other departments at REX in research and outreach efforts, depending on their interest level and availability.
Responsibilities
- Produce Estimates for client inquiries and track all information in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software
- Ability to write and produce formal proposals
- Timely communicating of project bid information to the engineering team upon project award
- Work to establish and build relationship with team members, both internal and external.
- Follow up on quotes in a timely manner and update communication in CRM
- Track as much data on lost job opportunities as possible and track all in CRM
- Inquire regularly about new bid opportunities with clients and track information in CRM
- Enter and update all sales information in CRM during client communication
- Compile and analyze job costing reports and investigate variances and report results to sales and engineering
- Enhance client relationships through constant contact in CRM (mass template communication)
- Understand and identify opportunities to cross sell products for the other business units within REX Engineering Group when applicable and contact clients with these opportunities, track all information in CRM
- Track data on competition and compile information to share with the engineering and sales teams
Requirements
- High school degree minimum; Bachelors degree a plus
- Experience in engineering or construction related fields a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
