Large-scale development for the same client as Burj Khalifa, to provide views of the World’s Tallest Building.

Consists of two concrete 50 story towers connected at their top by a steel amenity bridge spanning 300′. The towers house hotel and condominiums, and utilize offset structural cores to provide an optimum view of Burj Khalifa.

The amenity platform contains a feature Skydeck with an infinity pool, observation deck, and cantilevered glass walkway. A rigorous wind tunnel study and accompanying wind mitigation effort was undertaken to ensure a comfortable environment 50 stories in the air.

The amenity structure utilizes long-span multi-story deep steel trusses, which required many analytical studies as these elements rigidly link the two buildings together. These studies also incorporated considerations of the construction of the 1000+ ton steel structure, which was performed by erecting the trusses into four sections on the ground, which were then strand-jacked into place.
