Block 9 – Fargo

Mixed-use development in the heart of downtown Fargo. The building consists of an 18 story tower and 5 story podium, housing hotel, condominiums, offices, and retail spaces. The design and scale of the project complimented the existing downtown.

The tower structure utilizes a reinforced concrete post-tensioned (PT) flat plate system. The design of the PT strands was optimized to reduce material, by curving the strands in the plan to follow the natural force flow in the slab.

The podium structure utilizes steel construction, which facilitated construction sequencing by allowing the concrete tower to proceed first, which reduced the construction schedule.
